Honoring WWII Vets
The World War II Memorial in Washington honors those who served in the war.
In all, 16 million served in the armed forces. More than 400,000 died.
The memorial was created to memorialize the sacrifices these people made during the war.
Do you know someone who served in the war? Then visit the World War II registry.
You can search for people who contributed to the war effort.
Maybe your loved one isn’t listed. In that case, you can apply to have them added to the registry.
It’s a great way to show your appreciation.

VETERANS HEALTH
Dear Sisters,
It is my extreme honor and pleasure to announce that our own
Kim Sloan has won the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 2007-2008 National
Outstanding Community Volunteer Award. How exciting for her
and what a wonderful way to put Arizona on the map!
I received a copy of the letter being sent to her by National
Secretary-Treasurer Connie Atkinson, this afternoon. It said there
were thirty-two applications submitted from across the nation for
this contest. The judges were very impressed with the volunteer
work done by all the applicants and asked that she extend their
congratulations to Kim for winning a very tough competition.
Our National Rep will present her award at our state convention.
Her picture will appear in the national magazine shortly after
June. I told her for all of us that she has bragging rights all the
way through August and she is to forward this email all over the
state for me.
Love to all of you,
Sharon Ashby-Robinson
Department Community Service Chairman
